Fathers Linked to Healthy Families

For all you guys out there who are doing your best to be good dads or who hope to be dads one day, don't let women like Maureen Dowd with her "Are Men Necessary?" bologna get you down. Mark Alexander has written an essay entitled, "Fathers Linked to Healthy Families" that should be encouraging to you. You are not superfluous; you are desperately needed.

Read it here.

You know, the hatred toward men is astounding. How can we routinely disrespect 1/2 of the human race? It wasn't right to disrespect and disregard women (which still happens, of course) but to turn around and do the same to men is no better. I have a son. I have a husband. I have a father. I have brothers. All decent men. I resent their being treated as anything less or thought superfluous. The world is a better place for their presence.

I was gonna chime in with a comment about not needing an article to realize this truth. Looks like I was beaten to the punch.

Yeah that's what I was thinking colossushube. There are some bad dads out there, and a lot of scumbags who get a woman pregnant and bail, but the disrespect given fathers in modern culture is astonishing to behold. Men tend to shrug it off because actions matter more to us than a TV program but there may come a day when we've had enough. And I don't think the backlash will be pretty.
